Does anyone know if there are safes in the rooms?

Yes, all rooms definitely have a safe

I stayed there in May and I usually do a complete arrival photo session showing amenities, but with late arrival only had 4 shots here and can not remember.

They do state that they have them on the amenity list on their website.

If not wanting to take a taxi to your ship you can take the new bus D20 from right across from the hotel to Les Drassanes stop just behind where the T3 Blue port bus leaves from. Both cost 2 euro for each passenger.

Any recommendations for Tapas Bars or places to eat around this hotel? We will be staying there for our very first TA in November for a few days before boarding the Serenade.
