hi, I apologise in advance if this has been answered already but I cant find it. we are flying Dublin to Heathrow then using rccl transfer to Southampton. I presume we bring our luggage out to the transfer bus, just wondering if we need to take it off the bus at the port to bring it to check in or will it be taken from the bus and the next we see it is on the ship?if so we will need to put on the ship stateroom tag before putting it on the bus?

No, Marie, you won,t have to haul your luggage off the bus. :)

You,ll be met at arrivals in any terminal by an RCI rep or their shore agents and led to the bus.

You,ll have to haul your bags from airport arrivals hall to bus stop at Heathrow (ships, transfer coaches cruise the terminals, then leave for Southampton when full).

At the pier you MAY be asked to identify your luggage by some cruise lines, but then you don,t see it til your cabin.

If your bags don,t have labels with cabin number tell the driver - he,ll then keep them separate so you can reclaim them from the bus, someone at the pier will have a note of names and numbers and spare labels.

No worries

another ? how often do rccl run transfer buses to Southampton? I see that the first one is at 8am but there is no mention of times for others. while we are on an early flight it will probably be after 8 when we clear baggage claim, customs etc. thanks Marie

They'll have a fleet of coaches at Heathrow, usually two trawling the terminals at any given time. When one fills & heads to the port, another is called forward. Pot-luck whether you're first on a bus and get a sight-seeing tour of other terminals or you're last on the bus and go straight from terminal to port.

You'd be unlucky not to be away from the airport within an hour of getting to the Arrivals Hall.

Coaches run throughout the morning, the last probably around 1pm.
