Tours Operators?

Are there independent tour operators when you get off the ship? I would like to do the stop at the beach for the landing aircraft at the airport, but don't want to swim at the beach. Can we hire a taxi driver to take us around St. Maarten? It would only be two of us.

For the hot spot tour. Has tour of island with two short beach stops, including Maho beach to see the planes landing. Only $40 per person. Tour is the same as their fun tour, but with much shorter beach times.
