Tahiti question

Good day,

We are in Raiatea in July. It will be a Sunday (Wind Spirit always stops there on weekend). Apparently, the trail that goes up the mountain is closed on weekend (it goes thru private land). Latest information I could find dates from mid-2016.

If you have been there, is it still the case?

Posted the same question on http://www.voyageforum.com ( a french travel forum) and had a different answer today. That person said that it WAS prohibited on weekend due to issues with disturbance by some (trail goes thru private land). Apparently it is open to hikers now also on Saturday and Sunday.

Now, don't take my word for it, I think we will see on location. Final payment tomorrow :D
