Our view of RC v X

We decided to try Celebrity. Our 1st cruise was on the Summit 10 years ago and with our RC D+ status we thought we would enjoy the perks of Elite. The cruise was fabulous. Food was exceptional although I would say RC food is very good. Most everything was good. Our biggest disappointment was in the perks that we received. We believe that although we are D+, our switch to Elite was actually a step down. The evening free drinks and hors ds event was not as good as D+. The munchies consisted of itty bitty canapes of tuna, chicken & a 3rd choice; they were served on a tray & were about ½ square inch. The drink choices were limited to basic mixed drinks; we could not get black Russians. There were no welcome aboard gift, no choc covered strawberries or canapes delivered to the stateroom. The Elite breakfast was limited to cold plates & pastries; no typical breakfast items – bacon, eggs, waffles, cereal, etc. The staff was wonderful. The priority tendering process was very good. Although we did enjoy ourselves, we will probably stay loyal to Royal.
