hotel in miami?

we will fly in a day before our cruise. looking for a hotel with airport pick-up.

als o need a nice place for dinner. prefer a breakfast at hotel. cheap transport to ship.

people have mentioned comfort suites north. is that in Miami or Miami springs? any ideas?

That hotel is near the MIA airport - fine if you are arriving late and just want dinner and a bed; not so fine if you want a nicer area and to enjoy some of Miami.

Only a few budget places near the MIA airport offer both airport and port shuttles -- besides the Comfort Suites North check out the SPringhill Suites Medical center and La Quinta East.

Better hotels in a nicer area with shopping and dining options nearby are located in the Blue Lagoon neighborhood - Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites and others. Most can arrange for shared shuttle service to POM for about $10-12 per person, or you can cab it for $25-30 on the meter.

Arriving early and want to see Miami or Miami Beach - then stay downtown or in South Beach; no free shuttles but many more dining and nightlife options.

When do you cruise? Budget? How many travelling? Kids? What time do you arrive? :confused: Answering some of these questions will help to narrow down the suggestions.

We stayed at the Comfort inn Suites Miami North, on Minola as you mentioned, there is not much around there, so you would have to take a cab to the beach, they have a decent pool, the rooms are large, clean and we found the staff to be great, we are staying again in August, It has a free shuttle from the airport, free breakfast which was quite good and free shuttle to the port in the morning, for restaurants, there is a Subway, Mcdonalds right across the road, there is an IHOP down the road and a Sports bar restaurant very close, it is supose to have great food, last time we were there we ordered in pizza and pasta and they set it up in thier lounge for us, it was a decent price, but depends on how much you want to do the day before

we are cruising in aug. don't care about seeing Miami. just want a place to sleep and decent food. thanks a lot. ad

That was our criteria as well, wanted a clean hotel with breakfast and shuttles, make sure it is the Comfort Inn on Minola Drive, there is another one in the area that has horrible reviews, we were there last August and it was fine, they have a nice bar lounge in the evening if you want to come down and have a drink, free internet, you sign up for the shuttle to the port when you check into the hotel, we got the first shuttle,
