Sun Dining

Recommended Posts

I've been checking out the Sun for a future cruise, but can't seem to find a Blue Lagoon on the Sun. If there is no always open restaurant, where do they keep the chicken wings? I can't cruise unless i'm able to wing out in the wee hours.

No 24 hour restaurant.............wings are in the sports bar.....happy hour is great too...4-6pm. Casino usually has small buffet anywhere from 11pm-1am.

Thanks for the reply. Is the sports bar open past 2am usually?

The sports bar is open from 5:30PM to 5:30AM. I'm going to miss my "afternoon wings" on my Sun cruise but then again - I just need to pick a new time. Perhaps "pre-sleep wings". :D

If the are open from 5:30pm to 5:30am, how do the have have happy hour from 4-6pm??

Isn't these a tapas bar somewhere? And pitchers of sangria? Or am I thinking of the POA?

There is a tapas bar - but it was practically empty for our entire cruise last year. You can get pitchers of sangria in the Sports Bar; we did that for several sailaways and took it back to our balcony to enjoy! :D

Is the tapas bar open all day? I think they have chips/salsa as well. Just thinking those could be carried out somewhere to enjoy with Happy Hour if no wings available.

No tapas until after 5, and then there is very little offered. Tiny little plates with tiny little portions. We thought it was a waste, expected something like a real tapas bar, which this is not.

That was my impression as well. Not impressed.

Sad too, because it is such a pretty little space.

We were on the 2/6 Sun sailing and sometimes the sports bar was open earlier - I saw people eating wings in the afternoon and shared some wings and chicken fingers with my Nephew one afternoon. And we had the BEST fries there one night (with ranch dressing) - they were so hot and crisp.

We sailed the Sun in November 2012..............we had wings before 5:30pm too....around 4:30pm............so I don't think they adhere to that 5:30pm start time so much............:)

More sad because it used to have delicious snacks, different ones each night..the marinated cheese was really tasty. We loved getting a platter full and joining friends on the upper level of The Great Outdoors for pre dinner cocktails.
