Cafe near railway station Southampton

We fly in to Southampton at 8.15 am and plan to get the train to Southampton from the airport, but it will still be too early to get a taxi to the port. Is there anywhere near the train station where we can have a coffee and waste a bit of time? Also is there anywhere within walking distance to buy some wine ?

Sorry I can't remember which platform is which but I suspect you'll have to go over to the other side of the station from the one you arrive on. If you leave the station on Blechynden Terrace you'll find a Costas and Starbucks. There's also a little supermarket there (Co-op?) where you'll get wine. Check it out on Google maps.

You'll need the northern exit (Blechynden Terrace) from Southampton central station, that's by Platform 1. Not the exit signed "to the cruise ships"

Choice of Costa & Starbucks directly opposite the station exit.

A Co-op "Welcome" convenience store on the corner to the right carries a decent selection of wines, soft drinks, etc. Fee-free ATM there too.
