How's the island holding up? I'm on a cruise arriving next Wednesday... Think it'll get diverted??

There's nothing going on to "hold up" to.

According to the latest forecast, the closest Cristobal will get to Bermuda is 236 nautical miles to the NNW at about 7 am Thursday. So they can expect some rain, wind and rough seas but nothing very serious.

The storm will be long gone before your cruise departs for Bermuda.

By Sunday, the hurricane will be a tropical storm and very far away from Bermuda...in fact it should be near Iceland :eek: .. so no worry.

Bermuda has a 0% chance of winds higher then 50 knots...so again no worry.

There is a chance of a new hurricane by early next week, but it should be in the Caribbean.

The closest point of the storm was at 7:00am and if you didn't know that there was a storm out there you would never even know. If you look at the water it is a bit rough but nothing too bad that sailors haven't seen before. I am quite sure the water is bad out in the Atlantic (barf).

Hopefully your visit will be full of blue skies and calm seas.

I'm leaving NYC to Bermuda this Sunday. Really nervous about rough water all the way there and back.

You leave on Sunday and the storm will be far away so I doubt any movement you feel (if there is any) will be from the current storm.

We just got off of Dawn from Bermuda. The ship left early to steal clear if the storm. I have never had such a smooth cruise both ways.
