Mr&MrsSmith Posted May 22, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 22, 2012 We are planning a Europe cruise this September. I have been monitoring the airfare and they are at almost $1300 with taxes from Miami to Barcelona (nonstop). Is this average or high? I dont know if waiting is really a good idea with 4 months until the trip but then again usually see reductions in September air and cruise rates. You input and opinion is greatly appreciated;). 6rugrats Posted May 22, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 22, 2012 I am assuming this is RT on AA? It's way less expensive if you are willing to make a connection. You didn't list your travel dates, but I did a month long search for Sept and see fares as low as $899 on US with a connection in PHL, or with Swiss with a connection in ZRH for $959. To save that much money, I personally don't mind a connection.
Mr&MrsSmith Posted May 22, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted May 22, 2012 Yes it was AA and RT direct route. We are looking at the Epic NCL which departs on the 23rd and were planning on leaving MIA to BCN Sept 20 (arrive 21st)and then when we return it would be Oct. 1. I changed the outgoing to Wed the 20th as it was less than Thur or Fri but I havent seen much fare fluctuations, other than that. I was wondering if they run promotions or it is pretty set 3 months out? Thanks again!
bluesea777 Posted May 26, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2012 I had a look - out on Wed 19 Sept and return on 30 Sept (day ship returns) = $1041.20 pp. Non-stop. Better to have more days in BCN before cruise and zero after than having to split days in BCN before/after cruise. IMHO. Otherwise it's $1321.20 for 20 Sept - 1 Oct.
