We are going here for the 1st time in April. Our time is 7am until 2, which is a really early time! What's our best options considering there will be 4 teenagers from 14 to 19 in our group?

Any beaches close by or anything good to do right off the boat?

There's a waterpark just outside the park. But it's $89 pp. There a thread with pictures on this board.

Opt for the tram to the beach along the malecon in Mahahual ($3 pp , then a $2 pp taxi back.)

Best spots on the malecon for just dropping in are Tropicante or El Faro next door, YaYa Beach, or perhaps Blue Kay (a little quieter). See the link in my signature for pictures. But you don't need reservations and with few exceptions, there's no "entrance charge" all pay-as-you-go. Avoid places where the lounger hawkers try to shove menus in your face or act too aggressive. The prime spot for water sports used to be Tequila Beach, first tram stop, but you can rent kayaks etc just about anywhere now. Also most places offer beach massages.
