Credit Cards chip versus no chip

Does anyone know for sure if a standard Non-Chipped credit card (visa or Master card) can be used when we port here?

I know in Europe and Canada they are requiring Chipped credit cards only and will not accept any without the chip in them.

Thank you.

That is not true. The only problem in general in Europe is unattended kiosks. There are some venders in Scandinavia that won't take non chipped cards.

You don't need a chipped card in the Bahamas.

Charles is absolutely correct. You need a chip CC to use unattended kiosks, and there may be a merchant or two that won't accept a regular Cc, but for the most part, you can use them all over Europe as well as all over the Bahamas. We always try and charge everything, even small amounts if possible and we never had a problem. Just try and use a card that has no foreign transaction fee.

Cheers
