Amsterdam to Copenhagen

C 2 C

Recommended Posts

We are currently booked on Century sailing out of Amsterdam and wish to follow up with a cruise from Copenhagen to Barcelona. Has anyone ever traveled by "land" (I realize Copenhagen is on an island) between these two cities? Is it possible to have one way rentals in Western Europe?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure when you're doing this, but Transavia (owned by KLM/Air France) sell AMS-CPH tickets for E30 (although they don't operate this route after Mar, they may again in the fall). Also, SAS and Sterling both fly it for about $100 (random date in June).

Hi Arno,

by far the easiest will be a SAS or Sterling flight, although free luggage is limited to 20 kgs. per person, or pay extra for it if you have more. Fares are from about E. 40.- plus tax one way depending on the flight.

KLM is more expensive.

A carrental will also be expensive, since there will be a drop-off which can be high because you end in a different country. For 24 hrs. incl. dropoff you will pay from around E. 500.- excl. the very expensive gas.

Or there is a nightrain connection from Amsterdam CS to Copenhagen, leaving at 7pm arrrving next morning at 10.00 am.Those are "wintertimes" since I cannot find the summerschedule yet.

You can additional book "couchettes" simple places to ly down with 4 or 6 persons or more expensive a "slaapwagen".

Luggage will not be a problem in slaapwagen, in couchette space will be limited.

So...in my opinion book a flight.

Thanks for the replies. In my own way I will continue to look at what I would like to do... and let the opportunities slip by... I can always wait for Journey to pick me up in Amsterdam
