Le harve things to do for kids

Hi

Can anyone offer suggestions from past experience of visiting le harve?

We have kids with age range 8 to 14

We're were also wondering if there's things close enough to walk to from the port?

I've Google some things but you can't beat an opinion of someone who's visited

Why not use Trip Advisor - which will have much more information than you will find on here. But use the correct spelling Le Havre when searching :)

No, nothing really within walking distance...and not a lot in Le Havre. But with two children at that age, why not turn the port into a history lesson and take them to several of the D-Day sites/beaches? There are plenty of excursion options or you could simply rent a car and drive yourself. Omaha Beach is a great starting point for adults and kids and the US Cemetery will give your children a new respect for the sacrifice of many....so that they can have a life in a free society. The Peace Museum in Caen is also a great place to teach children and teens about a very important part of our history. In fact, the last time we were at the Peace Musuem there were several bus loads of school kids from both Germany and France.
