Short day in Split - is Trogir worth seeing?

Recommended Posts

Hello!

We will be docked in Split from 7 am to 3 pm. Do you recommend going to Trogir being short on time (is it worth seeing)? I've read Split is a charming town to DIY. I do not want to feel rushed, but I also want to maximize the short time we are there.

Thank you!

OK found the info from 2014

I Split we had a 4 hour tour including both Split and Trogir for 170 euros

there was just the 2 of u s but could have room for another couple to split cost[no pun intended]

guide was Ante Batarelo from privateguidesincroatia.com

in Dubrovnik we did another 4 hour tour for 130euros

this was with Dubrovnik day tours aka Doria ltd

we had Ivo who was one of 4 friends who had set up a private guides company

We visited Dubrovnik again in 2016 and again used this company-this time was pleased to report their business had expanded to recruit further guides

  • 2 months later...

Trogir is a great little city and not as busy as Diocletian Palace. We stayed in Split for 4 days this past summer. The palace is great, very easy to walk around, but in the afternoons it does get busy. I would recommend walking into the palace and wandering around. You will see lots of certified guides that do very reasonable walking tours in case you want more history. We did a boat tour via Viator that took us to an island to swim and then to Trogir for about an hour.

If you didn’t want to hire a guide, you can easily catch a cab to Trogir, it’s only about 20 min away.
