I am new to this so tell me is it hard to tip a kayak?

I want to Kayak in Ketchikan, however, I do not want to end up in frozen water. I have no skill, however, I am in good physical condition.

Going next week so time is of the essence.

Unless you get into heavy surf, it's almost impossible to tip a kayak. And no excursion out of Ketchikan will get you anywhere close to heavy surf - have fun! Murray

Oh great, DH has no excuse for not coming.

When we were in Icy Straight, there were a group of kayakers somewhat close to the shore. Very near them were whales, jumping, etc. We could not believe this. Maybe they were not as close as they looked but it looked close enought for me. Is this common? It sure looked awesome!

My daughter and husband were Kayaking in Ketchikan two summers ago and had Whales 30 feet from their Kayak! They loved the Kayaking and would recommend it.
