nicoleinwi Posted November 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2015 Has anyone done the turtle and shark feeding dive at the aquarium? I see it listed with our excursions (Royal Caribbean). In going to the aquariums website, it appears when you are doing the feeding you are feeding the animals through a tube and a plexiglass wall separates you and the animals. I'm wondering though when you aren't feeding them do you actually dive in the lagoon with the animals where you do not have a wall barrier? The excursions states it's for certified divers and you need your Padi card, so it leads me to believe there is more to this exclusion then just feeding through a plexiglass wall. I have emailed both the aquarium and the outfitter that actually does the dive portion but no response from either yet. Thanks!
Rare cruisequeen4ever Posted December 7, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 7, 2015 We have this booked independently as a snorkel excursion. If you're not scuba certified, you could do the snorkel. I read that there are stingrays and thousands of fish in the area you swim.
nicoleinwi Posted December 13, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted December 13, 2015 Thanks, I received an email back from the company and they confirmed what you said about all the fish and stingray. They said their was a huge Griuper in the lagoon too, we're excited to see that.
thetone Posted June 6, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 6, 2017 Does anyone know if you can book the snorkel encounter independently, even if you are on a cruise? I would rather not go through the cruise excursion, if possible. Cheers.
Rare cruisequeen4ever Posted June 6, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 6, 2017 Oh yes! You can book it through the aquarium directly or through Viator. We booked it through Viator as a shore excursion, so if our cruise ship missed the port, we would get a refund.
