Uber or Lyft in Vancouver?

Recommended Posts

Just to throw out one more option, albeit a bit of a quirkier one.

The Car2Go car sharing service has its largest fleet in Vancouver. IIRC, people with memberships from other North American cities can use Car2Go services in other North American cities. It's a decent option if you want to boot around town in a car. There are many designated parking spots around town though usage into the burbs gets a bit tricky. We have a membership and think the service is decent.

They service YVR too but it a bit of a pain in the rear as you have to shuttle (free) between the airport to an offsite hotel where the designated airport parking for the Car2Go cars are.

I suspect one can fit a couple of reasonably sized luggage in the trunk of those tiny Smart cars. A year ago I was pleasantly surprised about being able to put a luggage sized recycling bin I picked up from a pop-up city hall event in the trunk with a chunk of room to spare. They also rolled out a bunch of four seaters in Vancouver in the last year.
