New2cruise1483 Posted March 1, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2016 We are going to be in Barbados in November and are planning on visiting the caves, but I have a couple of questions. 1) do we need to make reservations to visit the caves, or can we just show up? 2) how long does it take to get the the caves from the pier and how much is it to take a taxi there? Thanks in advance :)
Ash1012 Posted March 2, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2016 We went with Glory Tours, but I believe when we showed up we had to wait a few minutes for the next tour (movie and tram). Not sure if that helps or not...

Thanks in advance :) We went many years ago and are planning to return again in 2 weeks now that we have kids. The last time we went we did not make a reservation. We just taxied to the Caves and paid our way in. This time we will probably do the same. We may go as a part of a Taxi tour as one member of our party has never been to Barbados. I have paid as little as $15 pp for a taxi tour that included this as a stop. I've read on these boards that a taxi there was roughly $40 per cab. New2cruise1483 Posted March 12, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted March 12, 2016 Thank you for the input. I'm just afraid of paying a cab to go out there, and then not be able to get a tour. Do you know if the $40 is one way or round trip?

queenL Posted March 13, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 13, 2016 I assumed one way. The poster didn't specify. If you are scared to take the chance, you can pre-book on their website. http://www.harrisonscave.com/index.php?categoryid=9 Matter of fact, if you email them (they have contact us page) they could probably give you a more accurate estimate of the cab cost too. New2cruise1483 Posted March 14, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted March 14, 2016 I will try and contact them. I know I could probably get an excursion through the cruise line, but I really prefer doing things on our own.
AAAAmerican Posted March 20, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 20, 2016 Dear New2cruise, Research the Public buses. We used that from and return to the Pier Area. Barbadoes has so much to do and see in it too. We are going to be in Barbados in November and are planning on visiting the caves, but I have a couple of questions. 1) do we need to make reservations to visit the caves, or can we just show up? 2) how long does it take to get the the caves from the pier and how much is it to take a taxi there? Thanks in advance :)
