mohawk1129 Posted January 18, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2017 Sailing on the Dream out of New Orleans in October 2017 Having trouble finding a pre cruise hotel for one night (Saturday) that doesn't bust the budget. Why are prices almost triple in October? Have a the French Market Inn booked for 2 days post cruise for a good price. Want to stay near port/warehouse district as it looks to be the most walkable area for restaurants etc Any suggestions ? Will prices look better closer to travel time? Thank you for your input
Rare Saint Greg Posted January 18, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2017 What night are you looking for? October is football season. The end of October is Voodoo fest. Then there are various conventions that can cause prices to go up....They could go up or down to be honest.

mohawk1129 Posted January 18, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted January 18, 2017 Ok Any recommendations of where to stay in New Orleans that is fairly close to the port yet has restaurants /bars or pubs that are within walking distance (safe walk) or street car easy access? Would use Uber or taxi to get to port anyways on Sunday. Also interested in doing Aquarium on Saturday

Also interested in doing Aquarium on Saturday I'd book Staybridge Suites for $168 Trivago.com. It looks like the best deal down there right now and with it being the saturday night of voodoo fest, it isn't going to get better than this. It's a good hotel with free breakfast. It's a good location. It's 3 blocks from Canal Street, 4 blocks from the Aquarium, and 3/4 mile from the port. Eboracum_d Posted January 18, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 18, 2017 Its a few years ago but we stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott . It was about 1/4 mile from the Convention Centre which was used as the Embarkation terminus and much the same dance from the French Quarter. Room was OK and there was a pool.
