atdahop Posted January 30, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2015 What is the best way to get from the cruise ship dock in San Diego to Old Town? Is there a trolly near the ship or do we need to get a cab? Thanks
Kartgv Posted January 30, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2015 The pier is about 2 blocks from Santa Fe Depot where you can get a trolley to Old Town. You want the Green Line trolley. Here's a link to the website where you can see all the different lines and link to schedules and fare information: http://www.sdmts.com/trolley/trolley.asp
swedish weave Posted January 30, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2015 (edited) What is the best way to get from the cruise ship dock in San Diego to Old Town? Is there a trolly near the ship or do we need to get a cab? Thanks The trolley that is located at the Santa Fe station is a great way to get to Old Town. The map shown in Kartgv's post shows all the routes and stops. A day pass will cost $5.00 and the required Compass card is an additional $2.00. This will let you ride anywhere on the three routes you choose all day. A ticket and Compass card machine is located outside at the Santa Fe depot. We stopped at Old Town, then got back on the trolley and rode to Grossmont where it connects with the Orange line and rode back to the Santa Fe station on it. That gives you a pretty good look at some of the city. If time permits, you can go other places that show on the route chart. elcydcruiser Posted January 31, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2015 There's also the PediCabs. They are just outside the cruise terminal. Pretty reasonable, too.
Californian Posted October 2, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 2, 2016 Does the MTS provide transfers, i.e., if you get off, can you use a transfer to get back on like they do in San Francisco?
Californian Posted October 10, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 10, 2016 Does the MTS provide transfers, i.e., if you get off, can you use a transfer to get back on like they do in San Francisco? Answered my own question. Found this on the MTS website: No transfers between bus routes or between Trolleys and buses
