Best Way to Get to Old Town from the Dock

Recommended Posts

What is the best way to get from the cruise ship dock in San Diego to Old Town? Is there a trolly near the ship or do we need to get a cab?

Thanks

The trolley that is located at the Santa Fe station is a great way to get to Old Town. The map shown in Kartgv's post shows all the routes and stops.

A day pass will cost $5.00 and the required Compass card is an additional $2.00. This will let you ride anywhere on the three routes you choose all day. A ticket and Compass card machine is located outside at the Santa Fe depot.

We stopped at Old Town, then got back on the trolley and rode to Grossmont where it connects with the Orange line and rode back to the Santa Fe station on it. That gives you a pretty good look at some of the city. If time permits, you can go other places that show on the route chart.
