Live from Anthem

Recommended Posts

Just a few things:

Embarkation was a breeze. Arrived around 10:45 was onboard by 11.

We purchased 2 internet packages. One worked fine. The other one didn't. Once I got signed out the other wouldn't sign back in so we spent about 45 mins with the communications specialist to get it resolved. They were extremely helpful and even offered us a refund on the first day since we weren't but able to use it fully.

While in line waiting for help with the internet, at guest services someone was trying to switch their wow bands over from their last cruise to this one and they said that they are no longer allowing this. He did it for them as a courtesy but said they were told they aren't doing it.

Jamie's was awesome.

We have a family junior suite and we love it. Having the 1.5 baths is awesome.

It's been chilly but thankfully we have an indoor pool so we've been able to swim.

If you have any questions feel free to ask!

We are sailing Anthem to Bermuda on June 3rd in family junior suite 10210. Did you have priority embarkation because of the family junior suite you booked? Also, are you perhaps in or near 10210 so that you can give me a heads up on the area? Thank you!

Look forward to following this thread. We are sailing on Anthem for the first time next March. I'm interested to know how the dining works....especially since they did away with dynamic dining.

We did have priority embarkation. Zero to no wait. Walked in and walked right up to a kiosk.

We are in 10224 so we are right down the hall.

Location is great. Everything is mostly on 4/5 or 14/15 so we feel we are nicely placed in the middle.

This is the biggest ship we've been on so it's been sort comical trying to get from one end to the other. We do feel like everything we tend to do is on the compete opposite side from eachother. The biggest we had been on prior was Explorer (we got married on it).

Not a lot was open when we got on so early and because it was a bit chilly we didn't head to the pool.

There was no wait for bumper cars when SeaPlex opened at noon so we got right on.

There were plenty of chairs available when we got to the indoor pool around 10:30. There was a chair next to us with towels on it the entire time we were there for 3 hours with no owner. At that point people were looking for chairs so I moved them off so people could sit.

Cabin Steward has been great as well as the rest of the staff.

Tonight is the first formal night and most likely the only night we are eating in the MTD. We have My Time dining with reservations. We have specialty dining and Coastal Kitchen for the rest of the time.

We also have Spectre's Caberet tonight.

Oh, this the 9 night sailing in case there are specific questions regarding that.

Few other things:

We were able to walk on with 4 bottles of wine. I carried 2 in my carry-on and my husband had 2 in his. No problem whatsoever.

Tons of people had checked cases of water. No issue with that either. We saw a bunch outside of people's rooms. We thought about doing it but since we bought the alcohol package we just decided to get waters and bring them back with us throughout the day.

Rooms were no ready until 1. The luggage guy outside said to give it an hour and try to go but they were pretty strict on the 1pm thing on every floor we passed.

Elevator waits are off and on. During embarkation day there wasn't much of a wait most times but after muster it was packed. We have been walking mostly since we are in the middle. Down we always walk and 5 flights up is stil bearable. More than that I shoot for the elevator.

Adventure Ocean was a hit last night with our daughter. She was there for an hour and met a friend so while she still wants to have dinner and go to the shows with us, she's excited about going after which gives us some guilt free adult time.

We will be in Bermuda tomorrow. Seems still a bit chilly for beach but we love Bermuda either way. One of my top 5 favorite places to visit :)

To me, it works just like dining always had previously. You have your table at MTD or you choose specialty restaurant. We have My Time dining and our specific dining room is listed on our sea pass card.

Also, they punched a hole in my daughter's sea pass card for her lanyard at guest services with no issue at all.

We received wow bands in our stateroom and so far we have been loving them. We went in knowing that it will be a pain at bars so we don't even attempt to do that. We use them from everything else and just give our sea pass card when ordering drinks.

Towels/Robotic bar and everything else has been easy. There's a pad you just tap with your band.

Hi. Thanks so much for this. If possible, can you answer these questions? Have a great trip!!

- which days are the formal nights?

- what is the order of the menus?

- what kind of laundry specials are there and which days?

- what kind of spa specials are there and what days?

Hi, if you get a chance can you post what movies are playing? Looking for Moana. Could you post cruise compass? Thanks

Moana played last night outside on the pool deck at 7. It was freezing so there was no one out there.

At 10 it was Sully.

Tonight at 7 they played Sing and at 10 it was The Founder.

I'll keep updating on this.

I have all the compasses that I'll post when I get back.

Came off Anthem yesterday and tomorrow's weather in Bermuda should be very similar to our day on Monday, many people were in the water at Horseshoe Bay.

Formal nights are 2 and 8.

I'm not sure the order of menus since we don't really dine in the MTD.

I will let you know about the rest. So far haven't seen or heard anything. If you have a coupon book there are coupons for like $5 off or something.

Spectra's Caberet was awesome. So unique from anything I've ever seen on a cruise ship.

A lot of people were dressed up for formal night. Probably the most I've ever seen.

We rarely get receipts to sign for our drinks which definitely cuts down on the amount of extra tipping we do.

Thank you. What did they serve for dinner tonight? We are doing the BOGO dinner package for the first two nights and were wondering if we are going to miss anything good in the dining room for formal night. Also, jus curious of how casual people were dressed.

Okay, great. Thanks for replying. How do you see the crowds dispersed amongst the venues on the ship? On Oasis class, the neighborhoods to a good job at thinning the crowds so you don't feel like you are on a ship with nearly 6,000 people.

Regarding the wow bands. On the second day I went to guest services to trade in the one I had from last year. The gentleman who was there very rudely stated they stopped doing that. The next day I went again and another guy told me of course they do this and gave me another band.

Having done Anthem and Oasis, I would say Oasis handles the crowds a bit better. It's not a big issue but we were definitely more surprised by where everyone was on Oasis.

Last fall when we were on the Serenade, they had a form you could fill out and hang on the door for the bar staff (your cabin steward let them know it was there) and they would bring you up to 24 cans of soda (Diet Coke) do you know if they do this on the Anthem?

Thanks
