If you purchase liquor from the FunShops pre-voyage, is this liquor provided in your cabin for in-cabin consumption during the voyage? If yes, is this the best/only way to have liquor in one's cabin for consumption during voyage? If any remains at end of voyage are you allowed to take with you? Thanks!! :)

Yes, you can drink it anywhere on the ship...cabin included.

If you have any leftover, you can take it home.

I've read you can also order a bottle from room service once onboard. I'm sure the price is the same.

Yes, liquor ordered from the FunShops online, or via the Bon Voyage Dept. for phone orders will be waiting in your cabin when you arrive (in most cases), and you can drink it at your pleasure (In room or around the ship). Any left over can be taken home/off the ship when you get back. The liquor prices has risen for most bottles order this way in the last year or two. You can also check out the Cheers drink package which gives you 15 drinks (liquor and/or non-alcoholic drinks per day (information is posted on this site also).

I've ordered liquor twice this way and although it is way overpriced it is worth it in my opinion, especially if you have a balcony.

It is oh so nice to sit on your private balcony during a sail away and enjoy a couple of nice stiff drinks. As you get ready to hit the casino.

It is really a nice way to prime the pump before you have to pay the bar prices for drinks.

Both times I had booze leftover that I took home with me.

the last I heard here is the actual rule about buying a bottle of alcohol on board

The Fun Shops or Room Service:

This program is designed for in-cabin entertaining/consumption only. Liquor is not permitted to be taken out of the cabin for consumption in public areas

If this still holds true. you can not take it outside the cabin. (This doesnt mean that anyone might say anything but this is the rule)

Interesting.

I've always made a drink in my cabin and taken in the public areas.

Nobody said a word.

I had no idea it was against the rules. Ooops.

I think as long as you leave the bottle in the room and only take out your drink in a glass or tervis tumbler you will be left alone. I have never had a problem.

while I am confident that is true, the answer to the OPs question is that its for in-cabin consumption only.

what anyone does after that is on them.

January on the Dream we ordered a couple of bottles of wine a bottle of tequila and some mix, along with bottled water. It was all in the room when we got there. Funny, I never opened the tequila and took it home in my luggage. That's the most of expensive bottle of tequila I ever bought.
