Good shopping at Dress Barn today

Found 2 items that I just loved at Dress Barn today. A just below the knee black lace dress (over black slip liner -- not see through) with just above the elbow sleeves and a simple round neck. Not in a long time have I found just exactly the "dress-up but not fancy" understated dress that I have wanted to replace my go to "little black dress". Fit was great and the lace very soft so it doesn't start my itch routine. $44 (30% off dress sale)

The second thing I bought was a maxi skirt of simple cotton or blend knit in a blue and white and black tiny pattern. Looks wonderful with white tank and colorful blouse or sweater. Could go to casual dining room, or out touring or even pop it over a swim suit as you go for a snack. Long enough don't have to worry about socks or dressy shoes -- just a fancy pair of flip flops will do. $32 full price but I liked it that much.

Should I buy the buttery soft light tan vegan jacket with gold zippers? I hate the thought of leaving behind my almost (supposed to be ) white vegan leather jacket that has been on every trip for the last 5 years and has the small tear in the back from where a penguin chased me coming out of the bathroom in the Falkland Islands :D. The white coat had 2 pockets INSIDE the jacket for passport and key card etc. and big enough to have a bulky sweater underneath. The tan jacket does not have inside pockets and outside pockets close to decorative only. Hoping for that sale! $69 full price.

It was on a shore excursion far far away! We drove in land rovers from a beach where a private shuttle boat delivered us directly from Star Princess deck 3 to the beach. 6 rather large people got in the land rover and held on for dear life! So fun but I was not sure the whole 20 minutes if we would or would not roll over or get tossed out or whatever  Really a dramatic ride over the landscape to the most beautiful penguin rookery on private farm looking out to sea. All rookeries are protected and the birds decide the spot not the shore excursion folks! The people running the rookery tour were locals and they "protected the birds" by a line not to cross but the birds did not particularly get with the program. The same people had a little wooden covered shed where they served home baked cookies and hot tea and had a Port-a-potty type arrangement within a fence and a fence so that the penguins would not get into the structure. Going into the facilities I managed to loose my penguin escort but coming out he wouldn't get out of the way to open the gate. When I turned to close the gate and latch it I got a little penguin kiss!

Later we went back to the land rovers but this time we were a lively crowd singing and joking and really enjoying one of the best shore excursions ever. Still can't hear the song "cheek to cheek" without roaring with laughter -- the song as I remember it now has nothing to do with romance or even face value. :D Just one of those priceless moments.
