College students looking to cruise on the cheap

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Some friends and I are finally turning 18 this year, and one of the things we'd like to do is travel as a group. Having cruised quite a few times myself, my first thought was to suggest a cruise because of the ease of planning that a cruise offers. So, I'm looking at a 3 day Carnival Cruise leaving out of Miami. However, some of the people in our group do have a fairly limited budget. Do you have any tips for saving money, specifically in booking the cruises? Any annual sales to wait for, BOGOs, or ways of booking cabins together that reduces the price? We're not limited to any one cruise line, but would like the departure port to be on the East coast, so that the flight isn't too long or costly.

And because I know it will come up: no, we are not a rowdy, loud college group. We are more of a group of quiet nerds :D. Seriously, everyone has high 90s in all subjects, and we're all extremely well behaved.
