MisfitThreads Posted March 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2016 We will be on the NCL Gem on April 11. We'd like to do the Baths but we aren't snorkelers and I really don't want to spend $110 per person for this excursion. I usually book everything private, or I figure out how to do it on our own. I heard about a ferry you can take. I am wondering if anyone has any advice on this? We will be in port from 7am-1pm. Will we have enough time? Can you give me detailed info on where to catch a ferry & taxi? Or, do you know of a private group we can use? Thanks!

OCruisers Posted March 24, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 24, 2016 With your limited time frame we would only consider booking something to the Baths with the cruise line. ;)

If you don't find what you are looking for let us know! I did look through some of them. But none really answered the specific question I have in regards to the time frame. blue_water Posted March 24, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 24, 2016 I did look through some of them. But none really answered the specific question I have in regards to the time frame. Going on your own you would take the 7:45AM ferry from Road Town to Virgin Gorda and the 11:30AM return. That would give you 2.5 hours to see the Baths and Devils Bay beach. The Speedy's ferry is ~30 minutes each way so you'd have plenty of time to get back to the ship by 12:30. Would recommend you stop at Sunny Caribbee for some nice spices on your walk back to the pier. The ferry is $30pp roundtrip, you then taxi 10 minutes to the Top of the Baths for $8pp roundtrip and walk down the path to the beach and the Baths. The driver will advise you when to be back at the Top for him or her to pick you up. The ferries are very reliable as well. Ferry terminal location at Road Town - If you zoom in on the map on this site you'll see the cruise pier, and the ferry terminal is on the other side of Pusser's Pub and Crafts Alive. http://www.whatsinport.com/Roadtown-Tortola.htm The "ferries" link takes you to this ferry schedule - http://www.bestofbvi.com/info/bviferry_tortola_vg.htm Or you can take the ship excursion as Lulu suggested.
