Freedom, President's Cruise, balcony cabin - aft or "regular"?

Recommended Posts

Looking at a cruise out of Barcelona in September before delivering our DD20 to her semester study abroad. The cruise that works best from a calendar standpoint is the President's Cruise - not sure if that's a good idea for us or not. This would be our second RCCL cruise, both on Freedom. I know I'd like a balcony cabin. There are multiple D1s available, and only a few E1-3, all of which are aft and rear facing. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the aft cabins?

Aft facing staterooms have much larger balconies than the side facing staterooms in the same category.

Thanks! I had seen where "corner" rooms had much larger balconies, but didn't know about those not on the end. Good to know!

it seems like a really long walk from the elevators to your cabin. Especially if mobility is an issue.

Fortunately, no mobility issues with this group. And for a larger balcony, I think we'd probably be willing to walk a bit more.
