Hello again! just a few weeks away!

Do you know if we are allowed to bring unopened snacks into Baltra? We have some gluten free snacks we travel with and I just wanted to see if we would be allowed into the Galapagos with them!

Also, is there a Captains Dinner?

And does SS's offer future cruise discounts for all SS future sailings?

If you mean a Captain's Reception for Venetians, yes there is.

Future cruise discounts are available on board. On our cruise the specialist naturalist (ie the non Galapaguayan naturalist) did the job of cruise consultant in a low key way.

Inspectors at Baltra airport were checking people's bags for food. We were told on the ship that if anyone needed to bring their own snacks onto the islands in the Galapagos, they were to see a Silverseas rep re same.

Were they confiscating any snacks/food, or just food that wasn't in a sealed package? I guess I'm wondering if they would confiscate something like granola or protein bars. Did they check all luggage by hand or did they have dogs?

The Galapagos rules do not allow snacks to be taken onto the islands. I believe unopened protein bars would be fine so long as you intend to eat them on the ship.
