Flight seats

Recommended Posts

Off on the Celebration 8th Feb. Looking at the seats on the flight, it seems that most of the seats have been booked and not a lot left together. We are a party of 6, is this a ploy to encourage you to buy a seat or do most passengers buy in advance?

I think because of the long haul flight a lot of people do book seats rather than risk being split up for 8/9 hours. We do - although we'd take a risk for a short flight - you may still be lucky - but the old ploy of turning up early for check-in (hoping to get more seat choice) doesn't seem to work as seats in our experience are pre-allocated. It may depend on the airport but we've not been able to make requests at check-in for some time. If your party really want to sit together (more of a problem with six of you that just a couple) I think perhaps you might have to grasp the nettle.
