Shops are open til?

We are sailing in Early Oct and want to do the beach, and other stuff before shopping.

Does anyone remember the times the shops are open? We are on the Explorer which is in from 1-8

When we arrive at 1 pm also on the Explorer, there are a few stores I stop in after the beach on Front St and the closing hours varied by stores. Most stores, not all, close at 5:00 pm, Jewelry stores were closing at 6:00 pm. I also stop at Friendly Duty Free on Front St. for alcohol and tobacco and they close at 6:30 pm.

When there are 6-7 ships in port, don't know if these stores try to stay open a little later.

we will be there on Xmas day, 12/25, from 7:00am til 6:00pm, with several other ships. Hoping that stores will be open at least in the afternoon. Probably best to head straight to beach in the morning. Has anyone been there on Christmas ? What is Marigot like then ?? thanx for any info.
