Athens - pier to national archeological museum

We are going to start with the museum and then head to acropolis. Looks like catching the green line and/or bus 200 from pier is way to go? Anyone have suggestions/experience with this route?

We have used the green line metro to get from the dock to the Archaeologcial Museum. Well worth the bother; a fantastic collection and probably the source of 95% of the Greek artwork our art history coursebook. Lovely Mycenean gold collection as well as gorgeous and rare Akrotiri wall art.
