Parking in Miami

Will be driving from Missouri to Miami for cruise 11/28. Trying to find hotels with parking. Have not had much luck. Thinking about staying a couple hours away and driving in the AM of the cruise.

Question--- Is it cheaper & safe and okay to park at airport and take taxi to POM?

If not please give suggestions on safe places to park.

Thank you.

Parking at POM is covered, convenient and secure - but costs $20/day :(

If you park at the MIA airport you might save $$ on parking but will need to pay $27+tip each way for a taxi to/from the port.

You might find a cheaper hotel in a nicer area with cruise parking near the FLL airport (http://www.sunny.org is a good resource) but would then need to take a shared shuttle each way (about $15 per person each way with SAS, QLS, MJS, Go Airport and others). The ride takes about 45+ minutes.

http://www.stay123.com and http://www.parksleepfly are two other sources for hotels offering cruise parking packages. As downtown Miami hotels charge $25/30+/day for guests to park all of these will be near the MIA airport - check the reviews as there are some scary areas near the MIA airport.

In downtown Miami during the off season (when you are cruising) sometimes the Hampton Inn Mary Brickell offers a cruise parking package including a shuttle to POM.

Good luck! :)

Even staying a couple of hours away from Miami isn't going to be cheaper (Palm Beach is insanely expensive especially over an American holiday).

Book a hotel you like at a price you can live with and park at the port.

Fair warning, if most hotels are going for $150 a night, do not book a hotel that is $75 per night.
