joan24 Posted July 11, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2004 Does anyone know if it's easy to get a taxi from the port in Barcelona to the airport. How long should it take to get to the airport and what should the approximate fare be? Would it be better to hire a driver? Thanks. Joan
jchris50 Posted July 11, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2004 We were just there in June and it is very easy and quick to get a taxi to your hotel or elsewhere at the port. However, you are at the taxi driver's mercy if you don't know the way. Ours took us out of the way and so our fare was double what it should have been. We realized this later when we were walking around but what can you do? Janet
divinc Posted July 11, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 11, 2004 We just returned from the Star disembarking in Barcelona. We had Angie meet us at the port and take us to a hotel and then later in the week from the hotel to the airport. She was timely and cost no more than a taxi and had new van. From port to hotel, 25e and from hotel to airport 30e. The regular taxi que was extremely long and very few taxi vans if there are four of you with luggage. If you want her e-mail let me know. Blamar Posted July 11, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2004 We just got back from the Star Princess 6/21 sailing and taxi's were not really a problem. But to qualify that there are two things you must check before you get into the cab. First of all, ask how much it is going to cost to go somewhere before you get into the cab. In some places, like the place where you catch the cab at the ship's pier it will be posted. Secondly, when you have luggage, remember that you will be charged an extra Euro for each piece of baggage. (I think this was a bit of a rip off.) It cost us $15 Euro to go from the Ship to the Airport including a tip. B

ClaudiaF Posted July 11, 2004 #6 Share Posted July 11, 2004 The cost from the airport to the pier is 30 US.( by taxi)...yes they will take dollars- but better to have EU. We use this company every time we are in Barcelona and seems like alot of the cruises for Med start there so have used them alot. http://Http://www.barcelonataxi.com they use a minivan not a car so can hold 4 people and lots of luggage easy.
