BirmanCrazy Posted June 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2017 I will be in Victoria on Sept 28th on the Explorer of the Seas from 10am to 6pm. I was hoping to do both Butchart Gardens and Whale watching .....is this possible? I don't want to miss the ship! Thanks!
SadieN Posted June 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 19, 2017 It'll be extremely tight. You have to be back to the ship by 5:30. The Gardens are a good 30 minutes away from port. And they really need lots of time to enjoy. Even a one hour whale watch can take up to two hours including pre and post excursion. Either do one or the other. The Tea at the gardens is lovely. In town we like to get chocolates at Rogers Chocolates, Tea at Murchies and dim sum at Don Mee. Oh, get some Mackintosh Toffee. Whale watching is done in every port and even from the ship. Look on the Alaska board for more info.
xlxo Posted June 19, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 19, 2017 I recommend the whale watch in Juneau. Juneau offers Humpbacks, while Victoria offers the smaller and faster Orcas.

SadieN Posted June 20, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 20, 2017 We took a great zodiac whale watching tour out of Victoria a few years ago. Lots of fun. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
