Advice needed: Mac Mini display for photo editing

I am grinding my teeth because my trusted iMac died last week. We decided to go with the Mac Mini for the lower price (mid-range model). Now, I am looking for a good display monitor to use for photo editing... Price range under $250

 

I know I can always trust the advice from my CC photographers/mac users.

 

If you have a Mac Mini, which monitor do you use with it? Or, if you use an external monitor with your Mac products, chime in please.
