Do you carry off your luggage yourself or have a scheduled zone etc?

The last time we left our suitcases was after our ship had called at Gibraltar before returning to Southampton, and we were using one of the coaches to return home.

Customs were out in force that day, because of the duty free stop in Gib, and we waited in the arrivals hall for almost an hour whilst they stopped about 1 in 5 passengers, then searched their luggage for the non-tax booze and cigs....Our coach was so late that we didn't return until late at night, and I think that's another reason why we always self disembark at Soton.

Putting bags out in the hall the evening prior as never been an issue and we've done both. If we fly and have a flight after noon, we do "easy check". That's when you put the bags out in the all the evening prior and don't see or touch them until they are on the carousel at our home airport and disembark by "whatever" color/code. If we drive, we do self walk off and are in our car and driving away by 8AM, and when we cruise out of FLL we've NEVER had a problem taking a 10:30 AM flight home if we do the self walk off. We've never arrived at the airport later then 8:15. (and yes, I know this is not advisable!)
