How can I book and pay for an excursion as a gift (I am not on the cruise)

I'd like to purchase and pay for an excursion for a family member in Labadee for this October. I am not on the cruise with them. What is the most efficient way to handle this.

If you know the booking number of the cruise, you can do it yourself online by going to Royal's website and choosing Shore Excursions.

Otherwise you can try calling Gifts & Gear at 800-722-5443. If they cannot help you directly, they can point you to the right place. Edited August 31, 2014 by clarea

I was able to purchase gifts for my Aunt last year with just her name, address, ship and sail date. Called the regular number but I can't remember if they transferred me to someone else or not.

You will need; ship, sailing, date, reservation/booking number and excursion name or number then call 800-398-9819.

I did not need their reservation number which is great if you are trying to arrange a surprise.

I originally booked and paid for the cruise, so I do have the reservation number. I will wait until regular business hours this week and call up with the information provided. Thanks CC'ers

Either way you do it you will need the booking number
They won't take responsibility looking up by name as you can have multiple people on board with same name

Probably the method that is most simple and most likely not to run into problems is to just have the people taking the cruise book/pay for the excursion they want. Then you gift them the money paid for the excursion.
