scandinavian cruise in May 2018 to avoid the world cup rush

My wife and I are thinking of our first cruise. And we would like to go on the Northern Europe cruise, Scandinavia and St Petersberg ... To try and avoid the world cup in June, we would like to travel in Mid May till end of May. Can anyone advise what is the weather like during May ? Thanks George
