Krazy Kruizers Posted October 1, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 1, 2014 Well here it is Oct 1 and out of six 4'o'clock plants, I have only gotten a couple of flowers the last couple of days. Picture was taken at 10 AM because by 4 PM -- they are closed up.
Krazy Kruizers Posted October 1, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 1, 2014 Even though we have a large cement bird bath, the wrens think the small plastic dish on the porch is better. When there are 5 and 6 of them trying to get in at the same time, I never have my camera handy. But I got a few pictures.

zackiedawg Posted October 6, 2014 #10 Share Posted October 6, 2014 This past weekend, I did some Saturday birding in the wetlands with my mirrorless camera system - Sony A6000, 55-210mm lens, and DH1758 1.7x teleextender: Osprey calling out on a tree: Purple swamphen: Osprey heading straight for me: Great egret with a big frog dinner:
Rare pierces Posted October 6, 2014 Author #11 Share Posted October 6, 2014 This past weekend, I did some Saturday birding in the wetlands with my mirrorless camera system - Sony A6000, 55-210mm lens, and DH1758 1.7x teleextender: I was going to post photos of dirty brown sparrows and featureless crows but then I thought, "Why?" I don't envy the humidity and bugs, but I certainly envy your access to local wildlife. Nice shots, as usual! Dave

zackiedawg Posted October 6, 2014 #13 Share Posted October 6, 2014 Nice shots all. Krazy, I completely understand what you're talking about - the same thing happens in my yard. I have a great big bird bath, and put out a small plastic bowl for the squirrels to drink from - instead, all the birds like to take baths in the squirrels' water bowl! Dileep - love the Fat Albert shot too - all the planes are awesome, but I've always liked those big lumbering monsters!
