Hotel in Auckland

My wife and I are Doing a land tour of Australia for 16 days and then flying from Sydney to Auckland to do a cruise back to Vancouver. I was hoping someone could make a recommendation of a hotel that was close to the cruise port.

There is a Hilton right on the Pier.

We stayed at Sky City Grand which was very comfortable and is a short taxi ride to the pier. Seems popular with cruisers. We did walk down a couple of times without luggage but decided taxi easier with bags.

The Hilton is on the pier - so close that we could see into the rooms from our balcony.

The Stamford Plaza is close and has nice facilities.
