Reservations regarding infants

A friend of mine is currently expecting a new addition to their family and they have booked using the current promotion for the end of 2016. There new arrival will be over 6 months and eligible to cruise with them and they are planning to do so. My friend asked me how do they book the trip though since they don't have a name, birthdate, or anything yet since the due date isn't until later this year.

My thoughts were to have my friend use a "dummy name" or a relative just as a placeholder on the reservation so they could take advantage of the promotion being run currently and just change the name of guest 3 once the child's born... Would this work or is there a different way people have done this? Any advice I could pass on to my buddy would be appreciated.

Yes just do a dummy name .. Baby Doe and a birth date near her due date and then change the passenger name when all comes to pass. :D

All she has to do is call and tell them she is expecting and they put TBD on the reservation then she has to call after baby is born to give all the name and birthdate. I have had to do this on two different cruises now and have never had an issue.

We used a dummy name/DOB when we were adopting our son. Weren't sure what his name and dob would be. Once we were home, we called NCL and changed it easy peasy.
