Seward??

Wildlife cruises are very popular. I like Major Marine the best. Renown is in the toursaver book 2 for 1. Go out for at least 6 hours and not on the bay tour. There are other tour options including private charters.

Driving to Seward (roundtrip 6 hrs.) for 1 day and going on at least a 6hr. boat tour, makes for a very long day and doesn't leave much time for other worth while things in Seward including Exit Glacier, Sealife center, kayaking, 2 kinds of dog sledding and more. I recommend taking the train to Seward overnight. It's an awesome ride.

Sorry about the hijack, op, but GlacierLady, do you know if there is a car rental office in Whittier? We are debarking in Whittier and want to go to Seward and the surrounding area for a few days, then up to Denali for a few more. If there's no care rental there, what do you suggest?

TIA!

Libby

We just booked today w/ Harley's after Jimcat mentioned he used them...due to getting a car for 5 days we didn't have a "drop off" fee per se, it goes down as the # of days you take car go up! He also doesn't charge extra for 2 people driving and only uses "AM or PM" as the pickup/dropoff time for rates. We are renting in Anchorage and dropping off in Whittier before our cruise. Paul at Harley's was very nice to work with and we felt the price was reasonable. Hope this helps.

Hi Fergus, I see you've been told about the 2 car rental places. Another option is PJS Taxi to Seward, and then the train to Anchorage. :)
