jdough789 Posted December 24, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 24, 2013 On my recent NCL Pearl cruise my DW & I both purchased the $50 promo play chips from Bank of America NCL card points worth $25 each. On a previous cruise we used the pay $10 get $15 in promo chips without incident. We did play the non-negotiable chips till we would lose them. This time when we won, they paid the $5 but took away the promo chip. as such, this was not much of a bargain. I complained to no avail. Do any of my fellow CCers have any knowledge if there has been a policy change, or did the staff make a costly error in their favor.
UhOhChango Posted March 27, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2014 All of the NCL casino chip/play promos are now no longer offered. All that is left are the Coupons that give you $50 of play for $25 which is a pretty good deal. It is a slotplaycoupons.com and you can sometimes find a code to get an even bigger discount. Last time I bought them the code UWQG67Pwas working just fine. I was told it is good through some time in mid April. You can buy the coupons up to a year in advance of your cruise as I understand it. UhOhChango Posted March 29, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 29, 2014 If you ever hear of NCL bringing back the promo chips please post to let us know. We enjoyed those in the past. We know it isn't all that much be anything where you get extra free play in the casino is good.
Sika Dellick Posted April 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 2, 2014 Wow I hoping this was a thread about the promo chips from NCL coming back. Sorry to hear about the OPs experience. I think he was wronged as well. I even recall those NCL promos saying something like 'play them until you lose them'. I guess we will have to stick with the third party $50 for $25 things at the free play coupon site. The deal is listed at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1379915&page=4 for those interested near the bottom of the page IIRC. I do hope NCL brngs back their promo offers though AND plays them correctly.
GuitarGuyFH Posted April 7, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 7, 2014 We had these bought for our upcoming cruise since we booked before they were taken off the gifts page. Then we rebooked to take advantage of the kids sail free and the free dining package deals and lost the NCL casino promos. lets see, drop two casino promos that gave us $15 each in free play OR give up over $1000 in savings on the price of our cruise, hmmmm tough choice! :p We did get the other vouchers for the free play at the third party site though so we ended up better off there as well!
