Merida with Autoprogreso

AP offers a tour to Merida. It mentioned several things you'd be seeing before getting to shop for a while. I know we could just take the AP bus to Merida and be dropped off but since our Spanish is almost non-existent we'd rather do something that is more structured. We'd be interested in historical buildings and things like that. What is there to see and do in Merdia that are not to be missed?

We went by private cab to the square where I think the bus drops you off. Maybe you saw this thread , but it has some pics also.
