northern lights last night 8/27

nothing that would make the cover of national geographic but, there were northen lights

so those are your clouds that are going to rain on us for the next three days ...

In Petersburg? shoot! The way it was raining last night when I went to bed, I didn't think it would even be worth looking last night.

We had hoped and hoped to see them and even were on a wake up call list for our hotel in Denali. We thought we were out of luck until our flight out of Anchorage Thursday night. There they were! DH pulled out his camera while I covered him up around the window with his jacket and the results were stunning. There was also a thunderstorm below and ahead of us to make it more dramatic. Checked another "must see" off of our list for the trip.
