JFK to Vancouver BC via Cathay Pacific

We are cruising Spring 2015 and thinking about flying Cathay Pacific from JFK to Vancouver. Has anyone flown Cathay Pacific from New York to Vancouver? Please advise pros and cons.

Major con would be its a redeye, of sorts. There are many other flights that have more reasonable times.

Yes, several times. IMO it's the best transcontinental flight offered.

The westbound timing (JFK-YVR) allows a full day's work (or preparation, whatever) in NYC and arrives in Vancouver in time to make it to a hotel (we usually stay near the airport) and still get some decent sleep, even if you're checking in around 2 AM. Eastbound it's just a typical red-eye in terms of timing.

If one has any frequent flyer miles in the American Airlines, Alaska Airlines or British Airways programs - or can buy them, THIS is the flight to use them. Riding JFK-YVR in business or first class (25K AA miles one way for business class) is spectacular value.
