wifi package in Costa ships

Or just enjoy your holidays and stay offline...(or do as the staff and as I does; look at land for free WIFI-spots and get your online-time there)

Agree. Using WiFi on cruise ships is one of the very few services anywhere where you are expected to pay more as the service worsens. The slower the WiFi the longer it takes to load stuff so the more you spend on the service.

Follow the crew they will know where the free WiFi is in each port.

Generally a holiday is still on-line for me - although I don't work on the internet I do like to put holiday pictures on facebook.

Occasionally I'm cruising solo - if so I need to keep in touch with my Significant Other - but ship's wifi speeds mean that it is by email, not facetime. Free Wifi on land is great for this - but for evenings and sea days it's nice to stay in contact.
