Laem Chabang

We were on the Volendam in January. I don't recall seeing any public transport but taxis were readily available at the terminal. Our stay in Laem Chabang was from 11am to 3pm the next day. We had a taxi (for 6) and over the two half days we visited: Nong Nooch Gardens, Viharnra Sien Sattahip (Chinese Temple), Pattaya Floating Market, Big Buddha at Wat Phra Yai, Sanctuary of Truth, Pattaya View Point at Khao Pratumnak, Pattaya town.

The highlight for us was the Sanctuary of Truth, with Pattaya Town as the 'lowlight'. It was quite seedy with little charm.

No convenient public transport. And taxis at the pier are a cartel who will over-charge. For that reason anyone wanting to get to Bangkok or the airport should research & pre-book a private transfer over the internet.

But Pattaya is only just down the road - mebbe 20 to 25 minutes. So for a simple ride to / from Pattaya, even if you're over-charged it's only by a few dollar & not worth the hassle of a pre-booking, either for you or transfer operators.

There'll probably be others on the pier wanting to go to Pattaya so you can share.

Pattaya "seedy", Omega?

Surely not :D

Quite a few of the girls in Walking Street are girls ;)
