mcpepe Posted November 14, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2012 Hello, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with a private guide/driver on Waiheke island. We'd like to ferry over there when in port and use someone who knows the island well to take us to appts we will be making for various wineries. Thanks! bobhsv Posted November 15, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2012 My suggestion is to take a look at http://www.tourismwaiheke.co.nz There is a list of tour operators, plus other modes of transport. Some of them do tailored tours, which may suit you better. Waiheke is simply stunning. We hop over every time we are in Auckland. Love the place. Kiwi Kruzer Posted November 16, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2012 If you are wanting a private driver for your time on the Island , do book well ahead as the number of cabs , drivers and guides is limited , and those that are there , are usually fully booked over the season. Most of the wineries time their tastings to work in with the tour companies , who also have to work in with the ferry timetable.
