Linzkane83 Posted April 22, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2016 we are set to sail The NCl Escape in September and St.Thomas is one of our stops, I was hoping to do some excursions but they seem to be very pricey on the boat plus I have a 6 year old with me who cant do many of the excursions. can some one give us ideas of what to do in St Thomas free or not to expensive with a 6 year old? Ms411 Posted April 22, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2016 Just take a taxi to the closest beach. The taxi fare to the closest beach should be no more than $6 per person (including kids) each way. If you want chairs, there's a fee to rent one.
blue_water Posted April 23, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2016 Between St Thomas and Tortola you gave great options from beautiful beaches to more active excursions. No need to book an excursion through the ship on either island, there is so much you can do on your own. Taxis are lined up at each port to take folks to the different beaches and the Red Hook ferry for St John. It's good that you started looking early so you can get a good feel for what the islands offer. Take a look at other threads on the forums to see what interests you for each port, and your roll call forum is another great source for newer cruisers. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2155141 Enjoy your research and your cruise!:)
